We also ask and collect personal information when users voluntarily signs up for newsletters, enters a contest, promotion or votes in our Best of Halifax promotion. We may ask for name, age, gender, email and address.

If you provide freelance or any other services to The Coast, we may collect your social insurance number for tax reporting purposes and your contact information so that we can pay you.

The Coast does not require registration to access or view any free content and services within the site. Users of site are able to make a profile to make public comments. To registar, users will be asked for name, email and birthdate.

The Coast may also use cookies. Cookies are data stored by your web browser that help us to identify things like general traffic patterns and repeat visitors. How to access your personal information If you have signed up as a member on thecoast.ca you may edit or delete your account by logging in. If you have concerns about how to delete your account, please contact website@thecoast.ca.

For some browsers such as Google Chrome, Google Analytics provides an opt-out add on for the browser that will keep personal information from being collected by Google Analytics.
